What To Expect on Your First Visit
On your initial visit, Dr. Spenser will perform a thorough health history and examination in order to discover what the cause of your pain or problem is. This exam will consist of questions, tests and other procedures to determine how your body, spine and nervous system are functioning. The initial exam lasts 30 minutes and once complete, Dr. Spenser will be able to formulate an appropriate treatment plan that will allow you to achieve your health goals.
Once Dr. Spenser has completed his exam and presented his findings to you, he will select the most appropriate form of treatment that may include spinal adjustments, muscle work, spinal decompression, rehabilitation exercises, preventative exercises and nutrition advice.
During the course of the recommended treatment plan, Dr. Spenser will perform re-exams in order to understand how much you have progressed and if any changes need to be made to the treatment plan or type of treatment you are receiving. These exams are performed periodically so that he is able to make the best recommendations for you.
Dr. Spenser finds that educating patients is a big part of their success when undergoing chiropractic treatment. An educated patient is more likely to follow through with the recommended care schedule and achieve their health goals. Dr. Spenser’s recommendations are specific to each patient and their needs.
Chiropractic care is a very safe and effective treatment for all types of aches and pains. People often have a fear that their spine is going to be “cracked”. Rest assured, that chiropractors do not “crack bones”. Chiropractors make very specific adjustments to your spine that help your body heal properly. This can be delivered by their hands or an adjusting instrument. Our Chiropractor uses an adjusting instrument which involves no twisting or cracking.
