Headaches are an unfortunate phenomenon that many people suffer with on an ongoing basis.  They can be caused by stress, injury, high blood pressure, or other medical problems.  The important thing to remember is that headaches can often be caused by more than one thing.

At our clinic, our practitioners will figure out the cause of your headaches before beginning any treatment.  This is important as headaches sometimes are caused by neck problems, jaw dysfunction, previous injuries or spinal problems.

The following are the most common types of headaches that we can help with:

Tension headaches

Dull pain across your forehead, or at the back of your head and down your neck are tension type headaches.  Patients suffering with tension headaches often report that it feels as if their skull is being squeezed.  They can last for a few minutes or a few days and are often associated with poor sleep, trouble focusing at work and stressful events.

The good news is that these types of headaches respond well to Chiropractic, Physiotherapy and Massage.  Tight muscles can worked on, stretches can be assigned and adjustments to your spine can be made in order to help you recover from tension headaches.

Migraines are very painful headaches on one half of the head that last for up to 72 hours.  The pain experienced is usually throbbing or pulsating in nature and can result in nausea, vomiting, vision trouble or sensitivity to smell.

Patterns of migraines can vary greatly, but are often severe in nature and interfere with work and life.

At our clinic, we  work to figure out the cause of your migraines first and offer a variety of focused treatments that respond well to migraines. Functional Range Release (insert link to FR page across the previous three words) techniques, performed by our Chiropractor,  combined with gentle adjustments to the neck have been shown to be very effective for migraine relief.
